My Story
Industrial Engineer turned AI builder. 7+ years shipping production systems across 2 countries. Now building and deploying AI systems — both live on this domain.
Where systems thinking began
I started as an Industrial Engineer in Colombia — not because I had a clear destination, but because I was drawn to understanding how systems work, how processes fail, and how to fix them at the root. That instinct led me from a thesis project into a real production line, where I built control systems, reduced costs, and got promoted before graduating.
I wasn't just studying systems — I was already building them.
Systems analysis, operations, optimization, simulation, data analytics. Bachelor's thesis on production control system design — Best Poster Award + Top Bachelor's Thesis, Universidad del Norte. Hired at E.C. Ingeniería through an applied university project while still studying.

Leading teams, discovering AI
At 24 I was directing a team of 20, reporting to a board of shareholders, and deploying ML models in production. I earned two postgraduate credentials, achieved 80% production automation, and discovered that AI was the convergence of everything I'd been training for. Then I managed a sales team at AB InBev, proving I could drive results with technology in any context.
AI wasn't a pivot — it was a recognition. Every skill I'd built was pointing here.
The biggest bet
I left everything on the table — a director-level role, a postgraduate in progress, and a professional network I'd spent years building — and moved to Sydney with a suitcase and a plan. I did it for two reasons I wasn't willing to compromise on: full professional English, and a setting where I could keep pushing industrial systems thinking together with applied AI—not one at the expense of the other. The next two years were full immersion: language, cultural reset, and rebuilding from zero. English was the floor; what I really took away was how to communicate with precision under pressure, keep solving when nothing feels familiar, and earn trust across cultures from scratch.
Then I made the biggest bet of my career: I moved to Australia.
Relocated to convert English from a study subject into a professional capability. One year of formal English studies (SBTA & SELA), then real-world immersion through multiple hospitality and service roles — deliberately choosing environments with high English pressure and multicultural teams.

Building the future, in production
Completing a Master of IT (AI) with Distinction and High Distinction results. Shipping two production AI systems — Q&A Assistant with Claude API and hybrid retrieval, and Portfolio Agent with OpenAI Agents SDK and 7 custom tools. Both live on this domain. The engineering discipline, the leadership, the cross-cultural resilience — it all converges here.
Major: Software Design & Development. Minor: Artificial Intelligence. Distinguished academic results — 2 High Distinctions + 4 Distinctions. Currently in final trimester (T1 2026). Internship T2 2026.
